BURLINGTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is pleased to be working with students – Pick Six Productions – from Ryerson University’s Radio and Television Arts: Sport Media program to be the external producer of digital content in and around the 110th Yates Cup.
Working as part of the Radio and Television Arts: Sport Media program, students learn about the creative, production, marketing, and business side of sport; the culmination of which is a fourth-year practicum. The members of Pick Six Productions, which is a volunteer group comprised of six students, will be completing this practicum component through this partnership with OUA.
In conjunction with the OUA, this student-led team will work primarily in the production of the official digital pregame show. The show, entitled Yates Cup Saturday, will air on OUA’s social media platforms in advance of Saturday’s championship game, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm, wrapping up what was a thrilling season on the gridiron and setting viewers up for the game ahead.
Additional content in the lead up to the game will also be prepared by Pick Six Productions across the OUA’s social media channels. This partnership – and the corresponding content therein – will strive to provide OUA football fans with a more in-depth and dynamic preview of the 110th edition of the Yates Cup, allowing individuals to be well-informed and well-engaged ahead of the Saturday’s game between the Laurier Golden Hawks and Western Mustangs.
Fans will have the opportunity to experience the produced content throughout the coming week on the various OUA social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), starting on Monday, November 6, and can tune into the OUA’s social feeds on Facebook (Ontario University Athletics) and Twitter (@OUAsport) to catch the live Yates Cup Saturday pre-game show on November 11 at 12:30 pm.
